Hugh and Rose are great, honest and great people to (work) with. Their installer, Noel is incredibly skilled, detailed and hardworking. We went into 800floors several times, really nervous about the final choice in flooring. They spent a lot of time while I indecisively went back and forth. They helped along the way with all the details from the flooring, to install method to scheduling. We could not be happier with the results! It's been and absolute pleasure dealing with everyone at 800floors. Super communicative. Noel is a master as his craft. They actually came in under most bids too!

By far the best experience we have ever had buying floors. We went to over 5 different places and no one measured up to the level of care and service that we received. Hugh and Rose were incredibly helpful throughout the process. They were never pushy but instead gave us the most honest advice we could have hoped for and epitomized the philosophy of treating people like you yourself want to be treated. Their installer, Noel, was incredible as well especially with the level of detail and care he took in installing the floors.

I recently decided to replace some old carpets with hardwood floors and I'm so happy that I found 800floors - 1) Their customer service is unparalleled - Rose went above and beyond to help me pick out the right wood (down to the color), despite I had small square footage and this wasn't a large order. 2) My contractor stated during installation that extra transition pieces are needed, so I called 800floors. Not only did Hugh get me just what I needed but he also kindly stayed late to accommodate a last-minute pickup (so my project is not delayed). 3) Hugh kindly followed up with a care & cleaning instruction upon knowing that installation is complete. Floor installation sure is a lot of work, but working with this wonderful team at 800floors made a real difference. I highly recommend 800floors!

We found multiple recommendations for 800 floors and visited the store as the first stop. The people here know what customers like to do, and what not to do for the flooring. They recommended several options for materials, nicely explained pros and cons for each, made us pick a short list, made further recommendation, and we just followed the recommendation.. then when the materials were delivered, the flooring contractors liked the material, saying those are really nice, and we also liked the outcome very much. They made sure the whole process of flooring to be smooth, like checking with the contractors, detailed material recommendation, and scheduling the delivery during the Thanksgiving week, and it helped our floorinng very much. I highly recommend this place.

Went to 2 places before we lucky to find this place. Props to Hugh, his wife, and installers, especially Rene. The team was always there on time and worked with us,as we had to live there as work being done. Hugh explained everything we needed to know about what we were getting and what to prepare for. Everything went down as promised. Went to 2 other places before here. One was $5000 over, and the other $3000 over for same floor. And it's beautiful !!!! So we got new furniture coming in tomorrow. Thanks Hugh and to your team for great experience!!!!!!

We chose to use 800 Floors based on their excellent reviews. It's difficult to ignore the consistency in their rave reviews. They absolutely lived up to their reputation. They tore out carpet and some existing hardwood and installed engineered hardwood throughout our entire house, approximately 2000 square feet. They only are they did not do was the stairs as we decided to install new carpet there. First encounter was in their showroom and they have an excellent selection to choose from. Very friendly and not pushy. I called to get an appointment for a FREE estimate and measure. They did two estimates one including the stairs and one without. This was extremely helpful as we were making decisions on our project. I called Hugh after I received the estimates and asked some follow up questions and he was extremely helpful and friendly. They have a full calendar so our install was scheduled around 3-4 weeks later which actually turned out to be helpful since there is a lot of prep work in getting your house ready for new floors. They move the large furniture from room to room to install the floor and to minimize inconvenience to the homeowner. The crew, Noel, Renee and Mario were excellent!! They were professional, calm and so accommodating. They all take great pride in their work and are very attentive to details.

I had previously visited other wood flooring companies in San Jose, but their customer service was unimpressive so, after reading the many, many positive Yelp reviews for 800 Floors, I visited their store on Almaden Road. My first visit was very pleasant because Hugh and Rose, the store's owners, were friendly and helpful in describing the many types and styles of wood flooring. After a second visit, I purchased flooring for my entire house from 800 Floors. I am very particular about details, and have been disappointed with past remodels, but 800 Floors installers were top notch. Beautiful work, including the installation of new baseboard and paint. In addition, the installers gently moved and replaced large furniture items (I had boxed up everything from drawers and shelves), so I didn't have to hire movers, they worked efficiently and quickly, and their daily clean-up made it possible to remain in my house while work was being done.
I wholeheartedly recommend 800 Floors to anyone considering hardwood floors.

Hugh was really very helpful and he is very knowledgeable. His prices are very reasonable. He is very patient and answers all your questions any number of times. This was the first time that i was looking at upgrading the flooring. In our case we had to go with floating installation because of HOA requirements and Hugh gave us a wonderful recommendation as to what length the wood should be so as to get a more stable installation. This helped us narrow down our choices to the right choice. It was very easy to schedule appointments with Hugh and he was always reachable. He also enquired on the day of installation and addressed all my questions. He is very detail oriented and makes sure that everything is taken care of and addressed. I highly recommend 800 Floors for any hardwood flooring needs. Post installation he even sent an email on Maintenance and care of hardwood flooring.

Hugh and his team are AMAZING!
My husband and I have been wanting to replace our downstairs with hardwood for the past 3-4 years. Each year, we would go in to 800 Floors, take a look at their samples, talk to Hugh, get a quote, and then continue to "think" about it. This year, we finally decided to just go and pull the trigger to get it done. We went back to the store and Hugh still had our quote from 2 years ago! He was great at helping us decide if we wanted glue-down or floating and was very knowledgeable regarding all things related to hardwood. He was also very responsive with the email communication between him and my husband. The original install date was supposed to be in early February but he made note that if possible, we would like to get it done before Chinese New Years. He was totally able to make it happen AND his crew actually completed the entire install in ONE day instead of the two days that he estimated. Our floors are beautiful and we could not be happier with the quality of the wood and the work!!!! Now, if only they did carpet...

I found 800 floors thru yelp, and we are so glad we did. Hugh and his wife were very helpful and patient with us in choosing our floors, and taught us way more and we needed to know about all the different kinds of hardwood floors. We chose an engineered hardwood floor, and his crew did the installation a couple of weeks later. After three days of moving furniture around we were very happy with the results. We love our new floors. The installation crew was very courteous, and recommended some products to put on the bottom of our furniture to minimize scratches to our floors when we move chairs and dressers around, and it also made moving them around easier. I had Canadian Lazon maple hard word floor installed on 10/2/2015. The experience with this store is excellent! Hugh is very professional, well organized, and always timely response to the email or phone calls. The price is transparent. No any hidden fee or any surprise. The installation work were excellent! I'm so pleased by the quality of their work! I just had some of floor work done at my home a year ago by somebody else. Now, compare the two works, you see the huge difference. Noel and his bother at 800 floor did such good job that I would recommend them!

The house had a master bedroom with a musty, ugly shag carpet. I got out my tape measure and measured the room... that carpet needed to go! We stopped by 800 Floor's store-front a few weeks back with my measurements and diagram and walked out 30 minutes later having picked a nice replacement floor. Yesterday, the guys arrived at 8, removed the carpet, installed the floor (with baseboards and everything), cleaned up and were gone by 2pm. Their prices were reasonable, materials exactly as expected, workmanship was excellent and they squeezed us in with hardly any notice. Amazing! Thank you 800 Floors!

I am super excited to be starting another flooring project later this month in our new Willow Glen home. My husband and I contracted with 800 Floors to install beautiful Acacia flooring in our Campbell home a few years ago and could not wait to work with 800 Floors on another project. Let me share my prior experince and why I would look no further and ALWAYS partner with 800 Floors on my hardwood flooring needs. When I began shopping for floors a few years ago for the first time, I began with no knowledge about types of woods, the process, maintenance, installation considerations, etc. I visited about 8 showrooms in the area and always sensed that the vendors did not have a lot of time to invest in educating me on hardwood flooring 101. It is a significant expense and as a customer, I was amazed at the lack of time a lot of the hardwood flooring companies would provide in making a person more knowledgable about what they were potentally going to purchase and establishing confidence in their quality of the installation process. Not to mention the quotes were all over the boad. Hence I was thrilled the day I walked into the 800 Floors showroom and met Hugh and his wife. Hugh spent the time and education me on the factors involved when selecting hardwoods and considerations associated to ensure a high quality installation for my specific specifications. He talk to me about the various types of woods types I was considering and the pro's & con's of each. He also disussed what to expect in the process from start to finish and post installation maintenace of the floors. He also allowed us to take samples home so we could view what the hardwood options would look like in our environement and home lighting conditions. After a few visits , there was no doubt that 800 Floors won our job!Additionally- the installation process went thru flawlessly. Hugh has the best crew in this line of work who are super professional, very attentive to detail, maintain a clean environment, and demonstrate amazing craftsmanship!!!! They clearly have pride in their finished product and when they install your flooring , you will immediately know why. It is wondeful to find businesses like 800 Floors who are committed to providing outstanding customer service and high quality hardwood installation services. And like the other reviewers mentioned, he is honest, creditable and does not employ any hard pressure or upsell tactics. So rare these days. We will start our next project later this month on our new home and look forward to another phenominal experience with Hugh and his team!

All of our friends recommended my husband and I this place and now we see why. Our hardwood floor, Hugh and his wife are super patient and have great depth of knowledge about all types of floor materials. Their contractors are also great to work with. They are super professional. They even finished all of our installation flawlessly in 2 days. We can't thank them enough, even when they finished the floor Huge gave us lots of tips about how to maintain the floor etc.. Wonderful service and great work. I recently got new hardwood flooring for a home I purchased. I had no idea what
color flooring I wanted and had a mishmash of colors throughout the house. Matching a floor color with all the different colors throughout the house was not an easy task. I was so fortunate to have found 800 Floors through Yelp. Hugh, the
owner, showed me different options of flooring and colors and suggested the flooring that was recently installed. I LOVE the color of the hardwood flooring! Hugh did such an excellent job of helping me pick out my flooring. The floors look so beautiful. Also, the installers did such a fantastic job. You can have beautiful materials, but if not installed correctly or haphazardly, the look can be diminished significantly. The installers did high quality work and did not cut corners. In addition, there was one area that I wanted fixed and Hugh sent the installers back to the house to have the issue fixed. It was not an easy fix and the installer worked very hard to make sure I was satisfied. The area looks great and I could not be happier. I would highly recommend 800 Floors and would use them again in a heartbeat.

Purchased a new home and needed the floors replaced! Found this place on Yelp
along with a few others and we checked them all out. This place was customer
friendly and great customer service too. Hugh & his wife are extremely knowledgeable and patient and so nice too! They did not try to up-sell any particular product, they were not pushy, they gave us honest feedback when we had questions about the different products based on our needs and they were VERY patient with all of our visits - I am super wishy washy! Our new hardwood floors in our home look great and we are very happy with the work they did. We even allowed them to do all the work while we were on vacation, came back to a great job completed exactly how we requested. Noel and his team were great!

I had my whole house done in hardwood in April, but waited until now to write a
review so I could tell how good the installation really was. In my previous home, the installer (NOT 800 Floors) did a horrible job, and I ended up with a badly warped floor and multiple issues that needed repair soon after. Because of this, I was extremely careful in vetting the installers for my new home. There is no shortage of flooring installers out there I visited about a dozen places and talked to more contractors on the phone. This takes a toll on you because each place literally has thousands of samples, and it's hard to keep it all straight in your head.
I finally chose 800 Floors because Hugh and Rose know their stuff, and I could tell that they are truly honest, hard-working people that run the business right. You get the feeling that these two are passionate about service to the customer, and not just trying to make a fast buck. I had noticed the strange cabinets in the showroom, and asked about them. They'll tell you their war stories about it. :)
The only problem I would cite is that they are so busy that they were booked a
month out when I went to them, which is a testament to the demand for their
services. I told them my timetable, and they were able to work with me to get the flooring installed on my schedule and get it done right without cutting any corners. When you work with Hugh, he knows all of his customer's requirements, as if they were his personal friends, and he'll say "so and so will be on vacation during this time, so i have a day or two flexibility here, and this other person is closing on this date, but mentioned it may be delayed to here, so I may have to shift that .... " and so on. It's amazing to watch how he satisfies everyone's requirements and takes care not to leave anyone hanging. I wish I could upload pics of my floor, because words cannot describe the craftsmanship that went into it. For the life of me, I still cannot figure out how Noel (the installer) was able to cut the flooring perfectly for the staircase without any seams! This sort of craftsmanship is rare, and I would have expected it to cost double what it did.
One of the best things is that they don't give you a BS estimate either. Hugh
definitely pads the schedule a bit to make sure things are done right and on-time. In my case, the flooring was finished a day and a half early (out of 5-6 estimated days, 2300sf), which is better than being a day or two late! Better to under promise and over deliver, than vice versa IMHO. Since I went with 800 Floors, I have run into a couple of co-workers who have also used them with comparable results. My story is not unique, for sure. You can bet that when I move again, I'll be calling 800 Floors for sure! A heartfelt thank you to: Hugh, Rose, Noel,

Installing a hardwood floor is an important investment. Quality materials, good workmanship, and a good price are critical when making the decision of who to trust. That's what makes this review (and others) so important. We got about 1000 square feet of the Hemmingway river walnut floor installed. My wife and I spent a few months researching different hardwood flooring vendors - Yelp was a critical step. We got price quotes from three different locations and went to about 10 different stores. The first two variables in choosing 800 floors were the people, and the price transparency. Several stores quoted a price, but there seemed to be some "hidden" fees. The price quoted by 800 floors was the price we paid. Additionally, the price was several thousand dollars less than the closest quote. All of the stores had a great staff, but the staff at 800 floors was just a cut above. Hugh was absolutely terrific and called several times through the installation process to update me on progress. One of the things I found impressive was the staffs amazing knowledge of their trade. They had the hardness values for all the woods memorized and seemed to know the
intricacies of each brand in detail. The installation was completed ahead of schedule and the workers were very courteous and gave me a thorough walk through of the results.

We got approx 800 sqr.ft. of engineered wood installed in our house. The earlier
floor was mix of tiles and carpet. I had heard some horror stories about floor
installation gone bad and was bit apprehensive about changing the floors. My
anxiety about the process increased further when I visited some stores on Brokaw St, in San Jose and got varying estimates. In some cases same store gave
different estimates on two different days. After deciding not to go through with the install, I found 800 floors over yelp. I am extremely happy about the job they did. Here are the few things I would like to highlight about 800 floors.
1. Extremely good attitude towards customers. Patiently explained all the nitty gritty details about the process and potentially the issues which can come up during floor installs in older houses.
2. Detailed estimate with all the details including estimate about potential surprises that can come up. This was helpful as it can give you an idea
about worst case scenario.
3. On time every day and finished the job about half a day earlier. All installers were courteous and ensured that they did not make a mess during install
in the house.
4. Detailed finishing, I was happy to see that they even paid attention to details
when installing baseboards in some closets.
Overall I highly recommend this business. A special thanks to Hugh and Noel for
doing a great job.

It has not bee an easy task try to find affordable as well as good quality floor for our new place. We've tried and consulted two other floor companies but found it's rather frustrating when it comes to communication. And that all changed after we found 800 Floors. Hugh was so nice on the 1st phone call. And that just kicked off a great start. The estimation guy (I think it's Noel) came in promptly (which is such a good surprise because that has not been what we had been experienced w/ the other floor company). When it comes to installation, we are just thrilled by how good these guys are, they are (again) prompt, professional, super nice, and did such a good job on the floor as well as the baseboard. We have round-ish corners so it's not the easiest to make the baseboard look really neat around it. But they made it look super nice! And the transition between floors to other rooms are also very nicely done. When they leave, they cleaned up the rooms and just left beautiful floors! I only got Moises's name, but couldn't get the other two. They truly delivered an exceptional job!! They've got good price, excellent service, we highly recommend them!

I have been terribly remiss in getting a review done for these folks, who installed my new engineered hardwood floors in living room, dining room, hall and master
bedroom last Fall. If you are the least bit on the fence about whether or not to work with these folks, you can rest assured you won't be sorry. Owners Hugh and Rose were so patient, so helpful, so incredibly knowledgeable. There is no "hard sell" here, you can take your time, take home samples, ask a million questions. And they talk to you in language and terms you can understand. Is the showroom a little dark, as some have commented? Yes, it is. This is not a
fancy-schmancy place, and it's easy to overlook it in its strip center location unless you're specifically looking for it (hint, around the corner from the Starbuck's). But certainly that is in large part why the prices are so reasonable -- no huge overhead like the big names in the business. There are plenty of products to choose from, including all the big names in flooring.
I did my homework, went to many showrooms, talked with lots of folks in the
business, had several come out to do bids. I was not price shopping specifically,
but naturally that does enter into the equation, and 800-Floors was very, VERY
competitive. And naturally a flooring product is only as good as its installation, and boy oh boy Noel and crew are out of this world talented. True craftsmanship and pride in their work that sadly seems so hard to come by these days.
We had one tiny issue after all was said and done and paid for, and Hugh was right on it, resolved it immediately, no questions, no hassle. That's when you know for sure you made the right choice. I would not hesitate for a second to do business with Hugh and team again in the future.

We are very satisfied with job provided by 800Floors. Hugh and his wife, the
owners, are very knowledgeable, polite and just very nice people. They answered
all our questions and helped us a to understand all small details of our project.
Several times we visited shop, changed our choices of the hardwood for our floor, and all time we've got very professional help . Finally we made our choice, and crew came to our home. Noel, Moises, and Alvarez exceeded all our expectations. They worked as clock - everybody new his job, Performances were great! We got new floor in our bedrooms and we like it very much. surpassed my expectations, was relatively painless, and came out beautifully!
I had visited the shop multiple times in picking the floors, changing my mind multiple times, and Hugh and his wife were extremely knowledgeable and patient. Their selection was great and all reasonably priced. The installation crew was extremely professional, quick, and cleaned up nicely every night. The floors blew me away (100x better than the previous engineered woods that the previous owners had installed from Lowes), and they finished in 2.5 days (originally estimated for 4 days). Their attention to detail was fabulous. Couldn't be happier! Thanks 800 Floors!! Highly recommended!

I recently bought an 1100 sqft condo and decided that I wanted new flooring. After going to a few flooring stores I came to 800floors.From the moment I walked in, Hugh was helpful and professional, and the showroom had a nice variety of choices.However, the biggest thing that attracted me was the pricing. 800floors was materially less than its competitors.So my first thought was, well how good could the service on the install be for this price. Noel and his team came in, did a great job and even graciously put up with 1 or 2 somewhat unreasonable things i asked them to do.My first thought when I saw my new floors was, 'Wow, I actually get to live here!'. I felt like I had just won something.
I would heartedly recommend 800floors to anyone.

Hugh and Michael are the ultimate professionals, extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and I cannot recommend them more highly. They are living proof of why you don't buy your hardwood flooring from a big-box store or online. We needed to purchase 1200sf of engineered hardwood flooring as part of a major remodel. After visiting a dozen flooring vendors/big-box stores nearest Mountain View with disappointing results, I finally visited my contractor's initial recommendation... 800 Floors. Not only was 800 Floor's selection and pricing was far better than any other store I had visited, but their knowledge and friendliness made the whole experience a pleasure. On multiple occasions, Hugh lent us samples so that my wife could actually see the different choices in our house and/or to go furniture or paint shopping. As soon as we made the purchase of the 1200sf of flooring, our contractor had a month-long delay. Not to worry, Hugh stored it for us for over a month without question. I can easily say that 800 Floors was the best vendor we have dealt with in our whole remodeling efforts. We highly recommend 800 Floors, and this is the first and only 5-star rating I've given on Yelp.

First off, let me say, this has to be one of the friendliest yet professional businesses I have worked with in a very long time. So refreshing!

We bought our new home and immediately knew that all of the flooring was going. So we did a quick search on Yelp in our zip code and low and behold, they are a stone's throw away. I had reached out to the showroom in advance of our visit to reconfirm their showroom hours on Saturdays and spoke with Michael. I briefly explained our plans and he welcomed us to make a visit.

We were immediately impressed with the warm greeting we received from Michael (who remembered me!) and Hugh. The showroom selections were amazing and the pricing is not to be beat! We had a very good idea of what we were looking for and Michael was able to pull 3 samples and the first one we set our eyes on was "it"!Our installation date was going to be a bit out from the time of our visit but Michael went over to do a thorough estimate and it came in pretty much right on our targeted budget. We needed to have both engineered flooring and horrific carpeting removed before the installation which they did - and removed all materials. Next, a few weeks later the installation happened which actually happened in UNDER the time promised. The lead installer, Noel, was extremely profressional and walked around to talk through all parts of the installation to be certain they were exact with how we wanted our flooring laid out so to avoid costly errors in advance! The installation was a breeze and I just received a follow up call from Hugh to make certain we were happy with the results. Again, I cannot state how impressed I have been with their business and of course, the results!

Hugh was extremely helpful and professional. He has a wide range of products and the ABSOLUTE BEST PRICES. We shopped around quite a bit for hardwood floors for our brand new home. It would have cost us 40K to have the floors we wanted installed through our builder, so we decided to put in the standard carpet and tile and do the floors through Hugh and 800 floors. We needed approximately 1300 square feet of flooring and we had to have carpet and some tile removed. Hugh made sure everything was ready to go as soon as our home was finished. His crew, led by Noel, was prompt and on time, and they finished the job extremely quickly--within 2 days. The floors look amazing and the transitions are also perfect. We selected the Garrison French Oak engineered hardwood and after the install we had some problems with a couple of the T-moldings cracking but Hugh ordered the new parts immediately and handled the repairs quickly. That's where you really see how good a business is--when things go wrong. Hugh and his staff were very nice to work with and we just couldn't believe how much better their prices were for the materials and installation. We've worked with a lot of contractors but none as headache free as 800 Floors. Definitely recommend them without reservation.

About two weeks ago 800 floors completed the installation of our engineered hardwood floors in our brand new tri-level town home. What can I say, absolutely beautiful!! Michael at 800 Floors was awesome! He was professional, courteous, knowledgable and just a nice guy. He always accommodated us in every single way. Young and his installation crew were exceptional in terms of craftsmanship and again just great bunch of guys. They even worked Sunday just to make sure the install was done on time and bought my fiancee and i Vietnamese ice coffee on one of the days. Thank you 800 Floors for making the entire process a GREAT experience.

I picked 800 Floors because of their great reviews. I wanted a local company that would stand behind their service and product. I was not disappointed. Hugh was great in the selection process and in dealing with my "sub floor" that turned out to be partical board. Together we were able to determine the best way to cover the partical board with a real plywood sub-floor that was needed for attaching my floors. The installation team was great. They were quick and careful in how they handled my furniture and the flooring. The floor was installed perfectly. I have a very crooked hall and they were able to install the floors following that bend so the hall looks straighter! I was amazed how quickly they were done installing about 1200 sq. feet of Johnson Forever Tuff flooring.

We had 800 Floors do hardwood flooring for our house in December, 2011, and we were very happy with the results. Before we selected them, we got a few other estimates, but we were really impressed with the detailed itemized estimate we got from Hugh, in contrast to the $X or $Y we got from other places with almost no details. Hugh was very friendly and helped us choose a wood that worked out well for us. The installation crew led by Noel was also very competent and friendly. We ended up about doubling the amount of floor space we wanted done a few days into the job, and Hugh and Noel were very good about accommodating us.

800 floors has done an excellent job in our new home ! They removed the carpet in one half of the house and installed french connection - white oak hardwood - really beautiful! They were fast, very good quality and double checked all possible
concerns before installation. Hugh was very helpful in selecting the right wood and he was very flexible to accommodate our changing schedules due to postponed move-in dates. 800 floors is be highly recommended for hardwood flooring - Excellent work !

I purchased my hardwood flooring and installation from 800 Floors. Hugh, the owner, is very knowledgeable, very helpful and professional. All of my questions were answered in great detail. The quote for materials and labor was the best I could find anywhere in the Bay Area. Most of all, Hugh was always reachable by phone or email and quick to respond. Installation was top notch and done in only a couple days. I was so happy with the installation work that I also had 800 Floors install new carpeting in my bedroom (they don't sell carpet, but I paid them extra to pick it up from another store and install it). Even though I did not get the exact square footage I needed on the carpet, 800 Floors was able to make everything work by stitching some pieces together. It was done so well, you can't even tell.
I would HIGHLY recommend 800 Floors for your flooring needs.

800 Floors had just completed the hardwood installation in our home for the entire downstairs, staircase, and upstairs hallway, and it is simply GORGEOUS!!
I can't rave enough about these guys! Thanks, Yelpers for the the great reviews! We can absolutely see why the reviews have been so awesome. First, Hugh is totally knowledgeable about hardwood floors. He really does his homework and stays on top of trends and customer needs and preferences. We have spent many months reading and researching on hardwood floors even before we approached any showrooms. Then, we visited numerous different showrooms in the entire Bay Area, based on the reviews here on Yelp. When we visited Hugh at 800 Floors, we were overwhelmingly impressed. Hugh took his time to explain to us the pros and cons of the different woods, listened to our needs, and offered sound options. Having talked to so many folks at the various showrooms, we found Hugh to be professional and yet very friendly, cheerful, and down to earth. It was like talking to an expert friend and getting advice as to how to proceed with our floor project. Hugh even followed up diligently with the wood manufacturer for us to get a great discount on the wood we finally chose.
Next comes Noel and his excellent and super-friendly installation team. Noel is a master craftsman when it comes to hardwood floor installation. He and his team take a lot of pride in their work and the fabulous results speak for themselves.
The installation was flawless, down to the last detail. They were really good with minimizing dust, especially when they had to remove all the tiles from our kitchen. The debris were removed quickly and cleanly and they made several trips to the dumps during the day, leaving very minimal rubbish on our property. Finally, the wood installation was done so quickly and seamlessly. We couldn't resist but added more to the project scope and asked them to do the hallway upstairs as well! Again, Hugh and Noel's team were so accommodating. Within one morning, they were able to acquire the necessary extra wood and Noel's team went straight to work on the upstairs. We are so glad that we had that done too. It ties the whole house together so beautifully, from downstairs to upstairs. We highly recommend 800 Floors and would definitely go to them again whenever we're ready to install hardwood floors in our bedrooms. Using Hugh at 800 Floors was the best decision that my wife and I made when it came to the hardwood floors. THANKS YELPERS! Hugh was awesome to work with. He spent a lot of time with us in helping us choose the right flooring for our home. My wife and I were indecisive about three products. Hugh let us bring home the sample pieces so we could evaluate it at home. It made the decision so much easier. Our brand new hardwood floors look amazing thanks to Hugh and his installation team. It only took 2 days to complete the installation. We will be using 800 Floors again for our next home project. Tip - If you can, the best time to see him is during the week when he can devote more time with you in choosing the hardwood flooring.

We had initially picked a completely wrong color/type of wood that didn't match our existing hardwood due to some misunderstandings, but Hugh took care of the issues in no time. His crew was professional, timely and efficient. Also, affordable. We ended up having about 800 sq feet of oak installed in three bedrooms. It looks awesome - our house is now worth so much more than before and it took only 3 days to make it all happen.The store is conveniently located in Willow Glen and there are thousands of samples to choose from. Also, Hugh gives very accurate quotes and keeps his promises. Great, great experience.

They just completed hardwood installation to my house and it is beautiful!!!
My house has now more luxurious feel comparing with the previous old carpet look. Before starting I was a little concerned about the budget installing hardwood floor, but Hugh helped us finding best hardwood floor within our budget and now the result is excellent. Moreover, Hugh is very friendly and answered all the questions very nicely throughout the installation process, which eliminated all my concerns. One important thing. There could be many hidden costs in hardwood installation such as carpet removing, so be careful. Some floors actually charge carpet removal by sqft as well. But in 800 floor carpet
removal is free and there is no surprise in pricing. Hugh will clearly tell you all the costs you need to pay when you ask a quote or after measurement. I strongly recommend 800 floors for your hardwood floor, and if you don't believe me, try this Call several hardwood floor stores including 800 floors and ask a quote.
You will at least find which store sounds more trustworthy and believable.

I chose 800 Floors based on the previous Yelp reviews and am so happy I did! Hugh was very helpful in ordering the material and scheduling the job. After he sent his team to take measurements, he called back to say that my initial measurements were incorrect (more square feet than what Carlos calculated), and as a result, we'd save $800. Carlos and his team installer showed up on time during the three-day installation, were very helpful, pleasant, hard-working, and most-importantly, really took pride in their work. What a pleasure to work with this team of people!

We chose Hugh at 800 Floors for our hardwood floors project at our new home. We were extremely happy with the experience and with the job that the 800 Floors staff did with the installation. Hugh did an outstanding job explaining the pros and cons of all of the types of products we were considering. He made sure that all of the details were taken care of and there really were no unplanned issues. The 800 Floors installation team was very professional. They arrived on time, completed the installation quickly, and cleaned up the construction area thoroughly. The pricing for materials and labor was competitive, and a great value considering the no nonsense hassle free service they provide. We intend on contacting Hugh's 800 Floors for our future flooring projects, and we will recommend them to our friends and family.

We went to 800 floors after reading all the positive reviews on yelp.com. Before that, we visited a hand full of hardwood flooring stores, and interviewed a bunch of contractors but we just couldn't find a store where we could get our favorite hardwood floor at a reasonable price. Neither could we find a contractor who sounds really knowing what he is doing. So we decided to give Hugh's store a try and it turned out that it was one of the best decisions that we made for renovating our first new house. We are extremely happy with the service that Hugh and his installation team provided. Hugh is very patient, very warm and very honest. He is always trying to think from his customer's point of view, helping them to make the right decision. The price he offers is very competitive, especially given the quality of the product. During the installation, we found out that there was a miscalculation and we were short of two boxes of woods. Instead of charging us extra to cover the cost, he basically paid out of his own pocket. What even impressed us more is how passionate and knowledgeable he is. This man loves what he is doing, which I think is what matters and makes our experience with 800 floors so pleasant. BTW, he used to be graphics designer and he even spent a few hours to help us to pick up an interior color for our main living space to match our hardwood floor. We followed his suggestion and the house turned out to be so beautiful. We are also very impressed by the work done by his installation team. Noel and his co-workers did such a beautiful work. Noel is treating hardwood-floor installation as a work of art. While he was installing our floor, he always spent time to design and plan out the layout of floor first before he started working. He is paying so much attention to details and takes the extra effort to make sure that they are properly addressed. Overall, it was such a great experience with Hugh, Noel and the entire team. We cannot say enough good things about 800 floors and the entire crew. We really enjoy doing business with them and we will not hesitate to go to Hugh again when we decide to upgrade our second floor bedrooms.

We went to Hugh's store after reading all the positive Yelp reviews. We were extremely happy with his service. He's very patient and spent hours educating us about difference between the different brands and types of hardwood floors. He's very passionate about what he does and we found him warm and very honest. Eventually we decided to go with the Mirage brand. We used our own handy man to do the floor installation. He ended up ordering too much and we had 4 boxes left after the installation. The hardwood floor company does not accept any returns. Hugh took back 2 boxes and refunded us out of his pocket. The Bull nosing we ordered turned out to be very curvy. He ordered the replacement for us. It turned out to be curvy again. Our handy man told us it's going to look really ugly if we install it as is. Again Hugh came to the rescue. He took the nosing and went to ask his installation guy to trim the nosing and made it straight. It was such a pleasure to work with Hugh! We couldn't have asked for more in terms of customer service and professionalism. In hindsight we should have used his installer for the installation. I'd recommend him to anyone who's looking for hardwood floor.

Hugh and is entire team are a pleasure to work with -- I cannot say enough good things about his business and his crew.Like many people, I've had my share of awful flooring experiences. My experience with Hugh and his staff couldn't have been better.Hugh sent his lead installer out to my home with samples I had selected to insure that they not only matched in the natural light in my home, but to insure the accuracy of the quote. The quotation was at market (a fair price) and produced quickly. Hugh responded to my multiple requests for additional information and adjustments with a smile and with a professional attitude
(not surprising) -- resulting in the exact, perfect flooring arrangement that I wanted.The installation experience couldn't have been better. The team of five
arrived on time and completed removal, installation, floorboards, painting and polishing all within one day -- for a master bedroom and an entire upstairs landing area! Did I also mention that the installation experience also included a
consultation for 20 minutes on arrangement and alignment to insure it would exactly meet my needs? That they were clean and courteous? That when there was one minor issue it was dealt with promptly and sincerely? As I said at outset-- if you've tried others and had the typical flooring experience, try Hugh and his team at 800 floors. I'm happy to be a reference for their fine work.

There is a descent range of selection at 800 floor. The store manager, Hugh, is not only nice but also very very patient on explaining different options, pros and cons, and the whole process. He treats customer satisfaction as priority. Hugh came to our house during installation to make sure we are happy.I have no complaint on the craftsmanship. We have a few round staircases and they are done perfectly. I quoted around before selecting 800-floor. Not everyone can take that job.
The installation team put quality first and did not rush to finish. They do care about their reputation. I checked the glue and and sealer they use. Top brands. Don't go with cheap ones for stairs.Very happy experience. Will consider them for flooring again.

In general, I'm quite wary of contractors coming in and out of our house to do home improvement work. A stranger traipsing around our stuff?? Kelly and Hugh made me feel comfortable with their installer in a way that none of the other flooring companies we contacted did. It was clear that this was someone who worked closely with them, rather than someone they hired randomly as jobs came in. As promised, their installer was licensed, bonded, professional, polite, and quick!Kelly is an absolute sweetheart. We were on a pretty limited budget and had to match existing hardwood floors that were put in who knows
when, and she helped us meet all our needs. Proof of someone who really knows what she's doing: based on our existing floors, my fiance and I each picked the hardwood that we thought best matched the current color. We teased each other that the other was way off when he picked a dark brown and I picked a golden red. Meanwhile, we gave Kelly a point-and-shoot photo (in poor lighting) of the floors. From the photo alone, she told us what kind of wood it was and pointed us to the color she thought matched best. Placed next to our guesses, we thought there was no way--her choice was a bright, bright red. But of
course, you know what happened next. We took samples of all three colors to compare, and we were SO WRONG, not even close, while Kelly's matched perfectly and even accounted for the darkening that the wood would undergo after installation. Amazing.

I had chosen 800 floors for our hardwood floor installation after obtaining estimates from several local business' in the East bay and surrounding areas. What made me choose 800 Floors was not only the competitive pricing that they offered on the better name brand engineered wood products, but also the service that Hugh and the team who came out to do the estimate showed. Throughout the entire experience Hugh always kept in touch, patiently answering numerous emails of mine, educating me in the process, offering his services even on the mid-week days he was off or after hours on weekends,
always being his friendly self, and following up to make sure the customer is thoroughly satisfied, even after the job was complete. There couldn't be a better inside salesperson than Hugh. The other reason i decided on 800 floors was after meeting with the team of installers Noel and John. When they did the estimate i had a chance to speak with them regarding the quality of their work and their work ethic. To me that is very important. Noel and team showed up on time, early in the morning like we had planned, and eventually completed the work
way ahead of schedule. They even offered to work through their lunch break in order to get the job done faster. Throughout i paid attention to the quality of their workmanship. Noel and team were very accomodating of some changes that i had requested, noticed some water damage with some of the baseboard trim, informed me and took care of it accordingly with minimal cost, and did the little things that i would have eventually noticed during the walk-through, without me having to ask them to do it. That was one of my initial reasons in choosing to work with them. They paid attention to cleanliness and took precautions not to dirty up the place whilst the installation was underway. All in all, i was highly satisified with the cost (labor+parts), Noel's quality of work, Hugh's service , their combined ability to work with the customer and understand their needs, and these factors and more made this experience definately one of my better if not best, home improvement experiences.

We installed Acacia Walnut engineered wood in our town home in November 09'. It is almost 4 months now and every time we have guests over, we get compliments. I have been wanting to write a review for some time now, kept delaying it for some reason. Hugh assisted us in picking the wood and he was very patient and took the time to explain. After the installation was complete, we were left with an extra unopened box and he took it back right away and re-imbursed us. We used installer recommended by 800 floors and they too did a fantastic job.About 500 sqft of hardwood was installed within a day. 800 floors definitely has better quality wood at very competitive price range, excellent customer service. Highly recommend.

I've been researching quality wood with good prices at lot of different places in San Jose and SF all over because i wanted to save the cost but I still want to buy nice hard wood. When I went to this store, I felt very welcomed by people who work there. All those sales person was friendly, honest, professional, very knowledgeable yet good listener. He tried to understand what my expectation about product & installing. He answered lots of my question since i have no clue of wood. He doesn't seem push to make sale but asked me think about more if I can't decide since I need to spend lots of money on this....I am very happy and satisfied that I chose this store. If my friends want to install new wood floor, I would say "go to 800 floors, you will give them five stars as I did !!!"
